TherraWood Middle East
THERRAWOOD MIDDLE EAST is a joint venture of Universal Composite Materials Inc. (UCM), the sole manufacturer of TherraWood branded wood polymer composite (WPC) outdoor solutions. The company has been established in June 2008 with headquarters located in Istanbul, Turkey.
Manufacturing facilities are located in Çorlu, Tekirdag which is 100 km west of Istanbul. Since the first days of establishment, the company has grown by over 1000% in means of turnover. As of today, UCM is operating with 12 extruders with an annual capacity of 6,000 metric tons per year. The total headcount of employees is 65 including production employees. All production steps – wood grinding, polymer recycling, wood drying, mixing, extrusion, tooling, and surface treatment are executed and supervised in our facilities.
Other than the domestic market, UCM exports 65% of its production to 55 countries on 4 different continents. UCM established 3 strategically located regional offices: TherraWood Middle East FZC was established in 2016 and is located in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone with 600 sqm of warehouse and office facilities, shortly after TherraWood North America started operating from Richmond, Virginia in the USA – In 2021 TherraWood North Europe was established in Poland to serve customers better with local warehouses for fast distribution of material.
Currently, UCM offers TherraWood WPC solutions in 5 different categories; decking, pergola, railing, siding/cladding, fence, and hybrid profiles, these are aluminium core profiles coated with WPC. TherraWood products are used in more than 750 projects with a total application area of over 2 million sqm.
